Every Son Has a Song Tour Heads to Geraldton
A solid night of original music is coming to Geraldton, with the Every Son Has a Song tour rolling into town this August. Presented by Regional Sounds in partnership with Blue Heelers Square, the evening will feature a mix of touring acts and local artists, along with a sound set-up workshop for anyone keen to get behind the scenes.
Headlining the night is Jason Neptune from The Lost Thylacines, bringing back his signature grunge-roots sound. The duo, known for their lapslide guitars and raw percussion, were recently on stage at the Ningaloo Sky Festival and are ready to hit the road again. Their style has been described as somewhere between Xavier Rudd and the White Stripes – loud, rhythmic, and uniquely WA.
They’ll be joined by long-time blues performer Matt Cal, who’s been part of the WA music scene for over a decade. Known for his slide guitar and dobro playing, Matt brings a relaxed blues and roots vibe that’s all about the journey.
Also on the lineup is Ellard, a psych-inspired act that’s been popping up at street festivals around Perth and Scarborough. Expect dreamy solos, spacious sounds and a chilled set that adds something a little different to the night.
Kicking things off are Geraldton locals Hippy Campers and Paul William, two singer-songwriters acts with strong roots in the Mid West music scene. It’s a good chance to catch some homegrown talent doing what they do best.
As part of the event, there’ll also be a sound set-up workshop, giving local crew, musicians and anyone curious about live production a look at what goes into making a gig run smoothly.
Whether you’re into blues, roots, or something with a bit more grit, Every Son Has a Song brings together a mix of WA talent worth checking out.
Tickets are $15pp + BF, or $20pp at the door on the night.
This event is subsidised with support from the Mid West Development Commission Strengthening Communities grant.
